Old buildings downtown

These are some older buildings that still stand despite the surroundings being far newer and larger.

This building was at one point a church built in 1893, it was since abandoned and purchased by a taco restaurant, I’ve never been there before but may stop by some time!

If you would like to learn more about the history of this building their about page is listed below!

This simple little barbecue restaurant changes names and owners regularly, yet always seems to stay a barbecue restaurant, it also seems so little next to the giant imposing building beside it.

This old abandoned house is on a large lot of land in the center of the city, presumably its still around as the property owner waits to sell the land for a high price, it isn’t very well cared for.

Public records show it was last sold in 1998 for $75,000, while its current estimated value is $575,000.

This was originally built as a shopping center or mall with heavy Hispanic and southwest influence, eventually portions of it were leased to the local college (Arizona State University) until the retail side of the business failed and ASU purchased the building in 1999.

This is just one of many ASU campus locations around the city, I believe this one specializes in nursing and teaching, you can find more information about the buildings history at the link below!

These are condos or townhomes, I’m not sure if they are actually old or not but they do look interesting!

The lath house is also a part of the Heritage square, along with a very old house and a few businesses like the one pictures here, I plan to visit the square soon to photograph the various parts more thoroughly.
